NOTES ON 1830 FLORIDA CENSUS, JACKSON COUNTY:

General note: This enumerator had problems keeping his totals correct from page 
to page.

1. Enumerator kept running totals at the top of each page. This is transcribed 
as line 1a on each sheet.

2. Grand totals on B page are off by 1 starting with page 84B.

3. Page 88A: line 26 (William B. Comer) has a 1 recorded in Females under 5 but 
it isn't counted in the total, which is recorded as 125 on the original. Total 
is 126. 

4. Page 88B: page total on original is 2480, actual total on transcription is 
2478. Grand totals now off by 2.

5. Page 89A: incorrect column total on Females under 5. Correct total recorded 
on transcription.

6. Page 90B: counts are now correct between transcription page totals and 
original page total.

7. Page 91A: incorrect counts brought forward in columns Females 10-15, 70-80. 
Correct totals recorded on transcription.

8. Page 92A: incorrect counts brought forward in columns Females 10-15, 70-80. 
Correct totals recorded on transcription.

9. Page 93A: incorrect counts brought forward in columns Females 10-15, 70-80. 
Correct totals recorded on transcription.

10. Page 93B: line 3 (Thomas Littleton) has entries in columns 1 and 2, but the 
figures are not incorporated in the line total. Correct total automatically 
calculated on transcription.

11. Page 93B: incorrect totals for columns 1, 2 and Aliens. This makes the page 
grand total incorrect by 7, which is the amount not figured into the line totals 
for line 3.

12. Page 94A: incorrect counts brought forward in columns Females 10-15, 70-80. 
Correct totals recorded on transcription. 

13. Page 94B: incorrect counts brought forward in column 2. Aliens count 
corrected.

14. Page 94B: line 10 (Hezekiah Wood) line total incorrect. Should be 13, 
enumerator entered 12.

15. Page 94B: line 11 (Benjamin B. Peck) line total incorrect. Should be 1, 
enumerator entered 2. 

16. Page 94B: incorrect total for column 2. Grand total for page is off by 6 
now.

17. Page 95A: incorrect counts brought forward in columns Females 10-15, 70-80. 
Correct totals recorded on transcription.

18. Page 95A: incorrect grand totals for columns Females 10-15, 70-80.

19. Page 95B: incorrect grand totals for column 2. Census grand total is 
incorrect by a total of 6.

20. Page 95A: Handwritten below grand totals for page:

"We hereby certify that a correct copy of the above Schedule signed by the said 
James P. Love Assistant to the Marshal of the Western District of Florida has 
been set up at two of the most public places within the Divison open to the 
inspection of all concerned.
