Transcribers note:  Although variant spellings and abbreviations are common 
in handwritten censuses, the enumerator of this census rendered many names 
unrecognizable.  Perhaps he had some difficulty in hearing, or was rushing 
to complete his work when he left out syllables and final consonants of 
names.  Where I am pretty sure of what the name really was, I have noted it 
in the remarks column.  Another idiosyncrasy of the enumerator was that he 
did not specify color for any female born in Florida except for a few black 
and mulatto women.
