The file is the full transcription of the 1860 Warren County, IA, Federal Census, transcibed from Microfilm Reel M653-341 using CART. I was assigned this census transcription through the USGENWEB project. Warren County begins and ends on this reel and is the only county on this reel. For this reason, I used the original census page numbers. The numbers generated by the microfilm service are only found on every other page. I included these microfilm page numbers in the "Remarks" column on the first line of each page where they appear. It should be noted that FTW CD #318 [1860 Census Index] uses the microfilm page numbers as their reference. The census taker routinely (and inconsistantly) used given name abbreviations. I typed the abbreviations as they appear on the original census page. The name "Benjamin", for example, sometimes appears as "Benj." and also as "Benjn." "Margaret" appears as "Marg." and "Margt." Many different abbreviations were used for birthplaces, as well. Sheryl Fisher dcnsfisher@yahoo.com
