Hancock County, KY 1860 Federal Census ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This Census was transcribed by George Lee Gibbs, Sr and proofread by Mary Emma Gibbs and Mary Louise Gibbs for the USGenWeb Census Project http://www.usgenweb.org/census. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Transcriber's notes: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I George Lee Gibbs, Sr. do verify that this a true reading of this microfilm M-653-370 It is intended to aid everyone who may be researching their family. Also note that the L & S are very hard to distinguish such as Landers & Sanders This ends the enumeration of the 1860 Hancock County, Kentucky Census This was transcribed by the Late Claribel Phillips and put in book form for the Hancock County Archives. I have done the same but maybe with a little more accuracy and hopefully you the researcher will benefit more from this than the book. I have given the Microfilm page number, line number Dwelling number and family number for easy reference. If looking for the original record please refer to Microfilm # 653-370 This was no easy task. After it was transcribed by me. My wife Mary Emma Gibbs and my Daughter Mary Louise Gibbs and I went back over the Microfilm for the proofreading of my work. Many hours was spent doing this, but if it aids only one person then our effort that we put forth will be worthwhile. We also want to thank those who complimented our work on the 1850 Census we did earlier in the year. If we get enough response from this then we will finish the 1870 for those who are interested. Thanks again.
