Mary Willia Branstetter transcribed the microfilm into hand-written form. With her gracious permission, I prepared this census for publication by transcribing her notes and indexing the contents by surname and given name. The house and family numbers on the microfilm were not always in consecutive order, and there was some repetition of household numbers for different family groups. The numbering order of the family/house is as it appeared on the microfilm. Some of the microfilm was dim and blurred, making it very difficult to read. Though every effort was made to prevent transcription and typing errors, some errors are inevitable. Please check the original microfilm to verify accuracy. The 1920 Hart County Census is listed in alphabetical sections by the County’s area names: Aetna Furnace, Bonnieville, Canmer, Cub Run, Hammonsville, Hardyville, Horse Cave, Linwood, Monroe, Munfordville (includes Kessinger), Northtown, Priceville, Rowletts, Three Springs, Uno. The index is at the end of this book. Within this census, the columns are ordered as follows: House/Family Numbers, Surnames, Given Names, Relationship, Race, Sex, Occupation, Age, Marital Status, Person’s Birth Place, Father’s Birth Place, Mother’s Birth Place.
