Worcester, MA 1910 Federal Census Transcriber's Notes for ED:1803 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes on the 1910 Federal Census for part of microfilm #T624-629 Volume 145, Enumeration District #1803 Town of Phillipston, Worcester Co., Massachusetts. General: Since there are no handwritten page numbers on this census, I have included the sheet number in the first remarks field for each page. The sheet numbers are generally sequential within an enumeration district and/or by enumerator and consist of an 'A' and a 'B' side similar to page numbers. Unlike the page numbers which do not repeat within a given volume, the sheet numbers start over with each new enumeration district and/or enumerator. If a person was married, not only did column 8 have an 'M' but also included the number of the marriage for that person (i.e., M1 or M2 etc. for 1st or 2nd marriage respectively). In columns 12,13, and 14 not only was the birthplace recorded but in MOST foreign born cases the native language is also listed and, for this transcription, are shown in parenthesis which were NOT part of the original source. Due to space limitations it was also necessary to sometimes abbreviate the native language in this transcription (i.e., Ireland English becomes Ireland (Eng)). The letters 'Un' or 'Unk' may appear in some columns and means the information expected was unknown to the enumerator. Street names were generally NOT given for this enumeration district. Instead descriptions were given for the 'street' locations and are listed below indicating page number, line number(s), and enumerator's description: Page 159a lines 1-50: Middle of the Town Page 159b lines 51-56: Middle of Town Page 159b lines 57-69: Road to Petersham Page 159b lines 70-82: Road Petersham & Gardner Page 159b lines 99,100: Petersham & Gardner Road Page 160a lines 1-21: Petersham & Gardner Road going East Page 160a lines 22-32: White Hill Road to Barre going South Page 160a lines 33-48: Phillipston & Hubbardston Road going North from Templeton line Page 160b lines 68-71: Phillipston & Hubbardston Road Page 160b lines 72-83: Road from Goulding Village North to Brooks Village Templeton Page 160b lines 84-93: Road from Phillipston East to Brooks Village Page 160b lines 94-100: Road from Phillipston north towards Athol Page 161a lines 1-7: Road from Phillipston north towards Athol Page 161a lines 12-29: Prospect Hill road going east towards Phillipston Page 161a lines 30-48: Road west from Ward Hill Page 161a lines 49,50: Road north Ward Hill to Athol Page 161b lines 51-59: Road north Ward Hill to Athol Page 161b lines 60-100: State Highway - Athol to Templeton - going East Page 162a lines 1-9: State Highway - Road from Athol east to Templeton Page 162a lines 10-26: Phillipston Four Corners Page 162a lines 27-50: Lamb City (going North) Page 162b line 51: Lamb City (going North) Page 162b lines 52-66: Road Phillipston Five Corners west to Athol Poor farm Page 162b lines 67-81: Road by Athol Reservoir over Baldwin Hill Page 162b lines 82-100: Royalston road going North Page 162b lines 97-99: Road from #6 School Page 162A lines 1-17: Upper Royalston road going North Page 162A lines 18-25: Road from So. Royalston to Baldwinville Page 162A seems to have been mis-stamped with the wrong page number. It probably should have been stamped as page 163a. Therefore there are two pages stamped 162 with the only difference being that the second page 162 has an 'A' handwritten next to it. Page 162A line 33 has 'Lives at Residence of C.H. Rowe on Athol & Templeton Road {Sheet #3B Line 73}. Page 162A line 39 has the words "Here ends the enumeration of the Town of Phillip[ston". It is also the last page for enumeration district #1803.
