"The Family and Dwelling Numbers for Walpack Township do not start at
#1.  The enumerator, John J. Vankirk, also enumerated Pahaquarry and
Knowlton Townships in Warren County and he carried over the Dwelling and
Family #'s from those townships.  Also, you will find any number of odd
spellings for given and family names.  Mr. Vankirk apparently spelled
phometically and you will find such oddities as Margret for Margaret,
Sirus for Cyrus, etc., etc."
