| In 1880 the state of Mississippi was divided for enumeration purposes by the Census Bureau into three Supervisory Districts. SD 1 consisted of counties in northeastern Mississippi, SD 2 of counties in southeastern Mississippi, and SD 3 of western counties. The counties contained in each district are listed below.
